in the northern area of Davidson County but lies partially in Davidson County
and Sumner County. Goodlettsville is the home of the 2012 Goodlettsville Little
League World Series U.S. Champions and the 2016 Goodlettsville Little League World
Series U.S. Runner Up Team who lost in the championship game to a team from New
York. Goodlettsville is also home to several corporate offices for major
companies like Dollar General, Tyson, and Iron Mountain to name a few.
This little enclave of Nashville is located less than 20 minutes from the
Nashville International Airport and less than 15 minutes from Opry Mills Mall
which is a major Nashville shopping destination. Like many towns in
Middle Tennessee, Goodlettsville is a mix of small town feel and larger city
amenities. With direct access to I-65, Goodlettsville is easily traveled to and
from to both the northern and southern borders of the United States.
also home to the historic Mansker Fort first built in 1780 as a haven for
travelers from attacks from Native Americans by Kasper Mankser but had to be
abandoned the next year due to an increase in violence. Kasper Mansker and the
travelers when to Fort Nashborough until 1783 when he returned and built a
larger fort that was easier to defend. Some notable travelers that lodged at
Mansker Fort were Captain William Bowen, General Daniel Smith, Isaac Bledsoe,
Andrew Jackson, and John Overton. The fort is now a tourist destination for
those who want to experience the frontier life as it is staffed by costumed
guides that explain the history of the region’s earliest settlement.
